چکیده

Biomedical austenitic stainless steel (ASTM F2581) has been processed by the powder metallurgy technology using binder assisted extrusion method and aside a sintering aid. The resultant microstructure was examined optical microscopy, field emission scanning electron transmission microscopy x-ray diffraction methods. images indicate that aid considerably decreases porosities of sintered samples. reveal alloy consists austenite in nanocrystalline form amorphous phases. mechanical properties were measured through compressive tests. mean yield strength is estimated at about 824 MPa, exceeds 1GPa, which superior to produced conventional Furthermore, process followed here compatible with large scale industrial production reasonable cost.

Combining gradient structure and TRIP effect to produce austenite stainless steel with high strength and ductility

We report a design strategy to combine the benefits from both gradient structure and transformationinduced plasticity (TRIP). The resultant TRIP-gradient steel takes advantage of both mechanisms, allowing strain hardening to last to a larger plastic strain. 304 stainless steel sheets were treated by surface mechanical attrition to synthesize gradient structure with a central coarse-grained laye...

Additively manufactured hierarchical stainless steels with high strength and ductility.

Many traditional approaches for strengthening steels typically come at the expense of useful ductility, a dilemma known as strength-ductility trade-off. New metallurgical processing might offer the possibility of overcoming this. Here we report that austenitic 316L stainless steels additively manufactured via a laser powder-bed-fusion technique exhibit a combination of yield strength and tensil...

Plasticity of nanocrystalline alloys with chemical order: on the strength and ductility of nanocrystalline Ni–Fe

Plastic deformation and alloying of nanocrystalline Ni-Fe is studied by means of atomic scale computer simulations. By using a combination of Monte-Carlo and molecular dynamics methods we find that solutes have an ordering tendency even if grain sizes are in the nanometer regime, where the phase field of the ordered state is widened as compared to larger grain sizes. Tensile testing of disorder...

Sensitization Behavior of Gnaw Austenitic Stainless Steel Joints

The present work has been carried out to study the sensitization behavior of AISI 304L austenitic stainless steel weld, fabricated using GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding process). This weld was subjected to post weld thermal aging (PWTA) treatments lying in the sensitization range, viz. 700 ?C for 30 minutes, 500 minutes and 1000 minutes for studying the influence of carbide precipitation on thei...
